After having a carcinoid tumor removed from my stomach and then developing SIBO, my GI system has been having a rough year. I got to the point this year that I could barely eat anything without bloating and nausea. Antibiotics helped, but I was still having a lot of food sensitivities, dyspepsia, and general uncomfortableness.
Then my acupuncturist, who I see for my back pain, recommended black seed oil (sometimes called black cumin seed oil) when I asked him about my ongoing digestion issues. It was something some of his recent patients had found helpful. I did a little research, and it looked quite promising, even though clinical research is still sparse. The main brand I found recommended online, though, was $50 for an 8 oz. bottle. I wasn’t sure I was quite that desperate yet, so I did some more digging and came across Zhou Nutrition Black Seed Oil. It is also organic and minimally processed, and the reviews at Amazon were great. At $18 for an 8 oz. bottle, I was much more comfortable giving it a try.
I am so glad I did. After taking just two doses of 1 tsp., my dyspepsia greatly diminished, as did my bloating. I was feeling so well that I gave in and tried eating pizza again. I had NO negative GI reaction. I then binge ate because I could. It was glorious after months of barely eating and cutting out pretty much all my favorite foods.
Several weeks in, the results still hold. I am back to my normal diet after my celebration period and feeling good. I still get the occasion stomach and GI upset, as well as some bloating, but overall I feel so much better. It feels like a miracle sometimes.
Every person is different. What works for me may not work for you. I hope all those out there suffering find something that helps.
